Adopting a rabbit

Rabbits are always adopted in bonded pairs. They don’t go to homes with children, or dogs. Cats are ok if nails are trimmed regularly…generally cats and rabbits either get along quite well, or just ignore each other. They just need to be introduced slowly, and supervised until they’re used to each other. If you’re afraid of your kitty bothering the rabbit, have no worries. Most times it’s the bunny that ends up in charge.
You should have at least three references, one of them being a veterinarian. If you adopt a female, she’ll need to be spayed withing three weeks if she hasn’t been already (If you go to the vet that I choose, and then end up bringing the bunny back within a month, I’ll refund the spaying charges. If you bring the bunny to the vet of your choice, and then bring her back within the month, I’ll provide you with a receipt that you can use for a tax write off). I require two home visits…one before the adoption, and one after a months time. During the first month we should keep in contact often to iron out any kinks between you and your bunnies. If after a month all is well, then we’ll make plans for another visit. The reason for this is to be sure that you are making the right choice for yourself and the rabbit with no strings attached. If after a month you realize that bunnies aren’t for you, then I will happily take them back.
