Recently a very neglected pair of buns was rescued by a lovely lady who is a bunny lover and close friend to me. Both boys, they need to be neutered so they can stay together happily. If you would like to help, please consider sending ANY SMALL AMOUNT. I LOVE to help others who help with rescue, because it means more bunnies in good foster or permanent homes, rather than in a shelter. To donate to this woman specifically, please go to this page , click on “donate any amount” and write “neuter bunnies” in the notes box when you complete the donation. Thank you!

This is the easiest question in the world to answer! Bunnies need to have a place to go where they feel secure. If you don’t have a hiding spot for your bunny, he will most likely use his litter box…and it probably doesn’t make him happy either!
Just get your bun a little box hut to hide in. You have to be careful of what you put in your buns home because he will most likely want to eat it, so use UNTREATED wood, or a PLAIN, cardboard box. He’ll be happier and more relaxed because he has his own home to run to when he’s frightened or just wants to be alone, and you’ll both be happier because his bottom isn’t sitting where he’s supposed to be peeing!
Wooden boxes are great because they also give bunny a secure place to sit on top of, but cardboard has it’s advantages because some bunnies will spend hours entertaining themselves tearing it to shreads (this might also be a hint that he needs to get out and run around for a while).
Bunnies love a challenge. Instead of dropping off a handful of hay for your bun today, grab a piece of jute twine or hemp twine and bundle the hay up nice and tight, like a hay-bail. The bunny will be entertained for hours - nibbling, throwing it around, and ripping away pieces. All the while, it will be very entertaining for you to watch.
Another fun thing you can do is to suspend the hay-bail from something so the bun has to stand up to grab it.
This will provide excercise, food, and enjoyment for all!
